La' Taunja's career began in the early 2000s while she was still in college, working for an A/E firm as a draftsman and field engineer. This role was followed by various positions, including liaison engineer, project engineer, project coordinator, and construction project manager, across the northeast.
After gaining extensive experience in different cities, La 'Taunja returned to the Gulf Coast, where she continued to manage numerous construction projects in the medical and industrial sectors. In 2021, she founded her own construction project management firm, Martila Enterprise. To date, Martila Enterprise has provided a variety of construction consulting services to clients on both commercial and residential projects. La 'Taunja also shares her expertise by teaching construction management principles and practices across seven different topics to students.
